The Power of Love

Normally, I'd complain about being too busy with school, job, parenting, blah, blah, blah to keep up with the strip, but instead, I'm just gonna post some sketches (in various states of completion) that I made in class recently ( rather than doing the actual assignments ), all having to do with upcoming comic projects ( non-school related, of course).

Stay tuned; As soon as the semester is over, updates will be back to normal. And if you miss me, go read Record Heat.

Our Powers

Yep, I'm going old school, with a B&W comic this time around. It's possible I might quit doing color strips (except for every once in awhile) in an effort to make drawing the comic strip less time consuming while I'm going to school, but I don't know... It's probably more likely that I'll just be posting sporadically, anyways.

On a completely different note, I neglected to post anything for Halloween, so here's a pic of me and my daughter, right before her epic battle with 'Count Dooku';

Socioeconomics on the Commuter Train

Shannon assures me that lots of guys have diamonds in their wedding bands. I, however, do not have ANY married-guy-friends that wear anything other than a nondescript, metal wedding ring, so it seems like some sort of upperclass, status-thing to me. Maybe I'm totally off...

By the way, the book I'm reading in this strip is "I Am Going To Be Small", by Jeffrey Brown. I always find myself rereading his books because A.) They're funny and awesome, and B.) Because his books tend to be pocket sized, and therefore good for when I'm on the go.

No news is good news

No new strip today, but I did add a 5 new pages to my "Get into Comix!" origin story, so please go read 'em! I'm at a point in the story that is a stark contrast to where I'm at in my life now, as illustrated by this photo of me and my wife, Shannon (and Kennedy Mae, in utero).

Dawn on Me

It's a little over 3 months until Shannon's due date, and finally the realization is beginning to set in, for both of us. I mean, yeah, we've known she was pregnant for quite a while ( hell, we've heard the heartbeat, and even seen a grainy picture that proves there's a baby in there!), but I don't think anyone having their first child can really ever comprehend what's happening until you're sitting in the delivery room.

Or, at least that's what I think as of now...

Obliviousness

Stephen Colbert would claim this strip was chock of "truthiness" were he ever to read it.

Bad Manners

I was gonna skip doing the strip today because I couldn't think of anything to draw, but Shannon suggested I draw the comic you see above. I can only take credit for the drawings and panel layout today, kids...

Grunge, Mr. Rogers Style

This comic took way longer than it should have, on account of me trying to finish the second panel while drunk on new years. Once my hangover wore off the next day, I redrew the panel and pasted it over the super-crappy one.

It's too bad this strip isn't very good, considering all the time I wasted.
