Something my Mom used to say

I guess the title should have been, "Something my mom WOULD say" since she's very much alive. Tune in next time to find out how much we had to pay to fix that sonofabitchin' car...

Rockin' on a Budget

If it wasn't for the library, I wouldn't get to read 1/3 of the comics I that I do now, nor listen to as much music and audiobooks as I do.

Ever since I read Mike Dawson's "Freddie and Me" book, I've been digging 'Queen' a lot more than I ever had before. I mean, I'm not an uber fan or anything (there are even a couple songs toward the end of the 'Greatest Hits' album that seem like clunkers to me), but I like 'em.

In other non-news, "Epic Tales..."#5, the issue long collaboration between me and Brandon Huigens, is free to read, online. Check it, yo!

I've expanded the 9-page online preview of the 'Crimson Cloak' comic to the full 27 pages of the minicomic, and also added the short story ("The Case of the Zombie Woman") featuring the same character, which was originally published in the 'Meanwhile' minicomic anthology! So, click on the links above and go read that shit, it's free!

The Big Reveal

I don't even know if I can say anything to really express how awesome seeing the ultrasound was! It's pretty amazing, and I'm stoked to have a daughter. Shannon is 20 wks pregnant, and I'm way more excited about it than I ever thought I would be.

Pick your Poison

Outside of work, I haven't really been hanging out with anyone (aside from Shannon, of course). I'd like to rectify that, however, since this strip kinda sucks when I don't do anything or see anyone.

Boy, if that's the best reason I can come up with to participate with the rest of humanity, I am a sad little man.

Creative Process

Y'know, writer's block is a terrible thing... probably an even worse thing for me and how I make comics than for others. I usually have a general idea of where I'm headed with a story, but I detest writing scripts, and prefer to work page-to-page. Unfortunatly, sometimes I get stuck, and I have to walk away from a project and come back to it later in order to get some perspective. In the case of the story referenced in the above strip, perhaps it would be better if I just pushed on through the creative rut. At least then I wouldn't leave the train of the thought I'd been pursuing.

Proof

Pretty awesome to think there's gonna be a human that is a combination of me and my wife. I know it's a natural process and that it happens all the time, but it's still pretty surreal.

Arrested Development

Initially, I don't think I was afraid of driving, but just ended up putting it off for a little bit longer ( I hate studying), and kept putting it off, over and over again. And now, after prolonging the inevitable for so long ( I'll be 28 yrs old in Dec. ), my laziness has transformed, blossoming into a full blown, irrational paranoia/phobia of driving a car/wrecking a car.

Obviously,I'm marginally insane.
